From mid-late April, TVNZ+ is moving to a new platform to improve your streaming experience.

Unfortunately, Samsung televisions from 2015 and 2016 won’t be supported on the new platform. Some of these TVs may still play TVNZ+, but we won’t be able to test or fix issues on these models, and a small number may lose access entirely. If you’re affected, you can find alternative options on our Ways to Watch page.

If you’re experiencing errors or playback issues while using the TVNZ+ app on your Samsung TV, try these steps:

• Restart your devices: Power off your TV and internet router at the wall, wait for 2–3 minutes, then turn them back on to refresh the connection.
• Check for pending software or app updates: Go to Settings → Support → Software Update → Update Now to check and install any pending updates.
• Reduce Background Apps Usage: Press and hold the Power button on the TV remote until the TV turns off and back on.
• Reinstall the App: Press Home → Apps → TVNZ+ → Delete, then download it again from the Samsung App Store.

If the issue persists, please contact us with the following information:

We’ve added new copyright protections which prevent our streams from being illegally copied. Our rights holders require certain measures to prevent the piracy of their programmes. Unfortunately, the change that we’ve made to our service is not compatible with Samsung 2015/2016 connected televisions. If you’re watching on this device, you will not be able to stream TVNZ 1, 2 or DUKE. You can still watch TVNZ+ video-on-demand content as usual, such as movies and our catalogue of shows.

You can watch TVNZ+ on select 2015 and newer Samsung Smart TVs and Blu-ray players.

In the Smart Hub screen, find the Samsung Apps store. In there, search for TVNZ+ under the New or Video section and select the option to download.

Once downloaded, select the TVNZ icon on the Smart Hub screen and enter your TVNZ account details to start watching!
