TVNZ+ uses High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP), which helps us to manage digital copyright on our content. This limits how TVNZ+ can be watched on certain displays or devices.
If you come across the error in the above picture, you can try the following.
- Fully restart your device
-
Turn off your device. If your device has a power cable, unplug it.
-
Make sure your device is completely off, not just in sleep or standby mode.
-
Leave your device off for 15 seconds.
-
- Some devices can disable HDCP, particularly gaming consoles and some Android devices. Check your user manual to see if there is a setting available for HDCP, which should be turned on.
- HDCP is also enforced on additional devices (such as HDMI cables, computer hubs or adapters) that may be in use. It may help to try different cables, or connect more directly to the display screen.
- HDCP protects against many forms of screen-sharing - if you're currently dual-screening, try disabling that. Chromecast and Airplay should work with HDCP by default.
If this doesn't work, we can try to help you try to resolve any issues via our Contact Us form - we'll just need to know some details of your setup and what you're trying to do, especially with regards to device type, and any cables/adapters/hubs that you might be using.
